Zelenskyy announced his intention to sign a multi-year agreement with the US on the production of drones worth $35-50 billion
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced his intention to sign a drone production agreement with the United States worth about $35-50 billion, which provides for cooperation for several years.
“We had such capacities. This is a big drone agreement for many years. And even if some sea drones will not work in two years, for example, due to new technologies, there will be new underwater drones. We are working on such things,” Zelensky said during a meeting with journalists.
The President emphasized that Ukraine has significant experience in intercepting Iranian-Russian drones. “We know that there are a certain number of interceptor drones in the Middle East, the United States, and European countries. But without our pilots, without the military, without special software, none of this works,” he stressed.
According to him, 11 countries have turned to Ukraine for help in intercepting Iranian “Shaheed” drones, including the United States, European countries, and Iran’s neighbors. Currently, Ukrainian drones are of interest to oil companies, as well as the governments of Japan and Israel.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that the US Army had sent 10,000 Merops interceptor drones to the Middle East, which are being developed by a Californian company and were tested in Ukraine in 2024.
