Parliament proposes to provide one-time financial assistance to families of deceased rescuers
The Verkhovna Rada is considering a bill that provides for significant one-time financial assistance for the families of employees of the State Emergency Service (SES) who died in the line of duty. The Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management recommended adopting it in the second reading. This was reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
This is bill No. 13418, which includes proposals from MPs Andriy Motovylovets and Oleh Bondarenko. The document regulates in detail the procedure and amount of payments in cases where a rescuer died, is in captivity or is considered missing while performing his duties, in particular under martial law.
According to the norms of the project, a one-time cash benefit can amount to up to 15 million hryvnias.
“The funds will be accrued taking into account the already paid cash benefits and cannot exceed 15 million hryvnias”, – the press service of the Verkhovna Rada specifies.
The payment of benefits is provided both in the presence of a personal order of the employee, when the funds are received by the persons specified by him, and in his absence – to members families and dependents in accordance with current legislation. The bill is designed to increase the social protection of rescuers and support their families in the most difficult moment.
