Zelenskyy appoints Umerov’s first deputy to another post

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi appointed First Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Havrylyuk to another important position. In accordance with by decree No. 736, Gavrilyuk headed the Interdepartmental Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation and Export Control.

This appointment was accompanied by the dismissal of Ihor Fomenko, the former Deputy Minister of Economy, from the position of chairman of the commission. Fomenka was dismissed from the Ministry of Economy on June 18, 2024.

Zelensky also instructed Havrylyuk to submit proposals regarding the personal composition of the commission within two weeks. In addition, the president appointed Oleksandr Lytvynenko, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, as the head of the Council of Experts on Energy Security.

Earlier, Havryliuk, lieutenant general and first deputy minister of defense, told journalists in an interview about the development of Ukrainian production of ammunition, drones and long-range weapons and assessed the ratio of resources of Ukraine and Russia in the war.
