Zelenskyy introduced Kyrylo Budanov to the NSDC

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has expanded the composition of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine by including the head of the President’s Office, Kyrylo Budanov. The relevant information was published on the website of the President of Ukraine.

The decision was made in accordance with Part Four of Article 107 of the Constitution of Ukraine and provides for a partial amendment to Article 1 of the Presidential Decree of July 19, 2025 No. 501/2025 “On the Composition of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine”. According to the document, Kyrylo Oleksiyovych Budanov – was included in the personal composition of the NSDC Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, while O. Ivashchenko was removed from the Council.

As reported, on January 2, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a separate decree appointing Kyrylo Budanov as Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. Prior to that, he headed the Main Intelligence Directorate. After signing the document, Budanov officially began performing his duties in his new position.
