The White House confirmed that Trump and Zelensky had a “productive meeting” before the farewell ceremony.
“President Trump and President Zelensky met privately today and had a very productive meeting”, said White House Communications Director Stephen Cheng.
Zelensky and Trump arrived at the Vatican for the farewell ceremony, which began at 11:00 a.m. US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania were given front row seats at the funeral of Pope Francis. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, was also placed in the first row.

It is known that the US president did not plan to stay in Rome for a long time: according to the schedule, Trump was supposed to leave for the airport at 1:50 p.m. Kyiv time.
