AOZ and DOT presented the functionality of the DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace

Procurement agencies of the Ministry of Defense — “Defense Procurement Agency” (AOZ) and “State Rear Operator” (DOT) — presented functionality of the DOT-Chain Defense digital platform. Its launch is expected in the near future.
DOT-Chain Defense is an IT system that will allow the military to independently choose weapons purchased with the funds of AOZ. During the development process, the DOT held consultations with representatives of combat brigades that deal with logistics and work with anti-aircraft missiles, in particular with 3 OSHbr and 110 OMbr.
Each unit will have access to a personal account in the system, where the volume of virtual financing will be determined. In the “showcase” tab, the military will be able to view a list of drones with prices, technical characteristics, ratings and reviews.
When placing an order, the representative of the unit will be able to specify the desired number of devices. If the demand exceeds the current stock, the system will offer a pre-order option. In addition, a forecast will be available for delivery times for both existing and pre-ordered drones. All contractual and control procedures — from concluding agreements with manufacturers to monitoring implementation — will be carried out by AOZ.
“While developing the platform, we primarily focused on the needs of the military. It was fundamentally important to provide them with freedom of choice – because they are the ones who know best which UAVs with which characteristics they need for a specific task. DOT-Chain Defense provides such an opportunity. In addition, we significantly reduce logistics thanks to the direct interaction “military unit – supplier”. This will make it possible to reduce the time from the order to the delivery of the drone to the position – initially to a matter of weeks, and later to days.” – explained Arsen Zhumadilov, director of the Defense Procurement Agency.
In the future, it is planned to gradually expand the assortment — drones of various purposes, ammunition for them, means of radio-electronic warfare/reconnaissance, as well as ground robotic complexes. DOT-Chain Defense is an element of AOZ’s new strategy for procurement of UAVs.
