145 guilty verdicts were passed in NABU and SAP cases during 2016-2023

Employees of anti-corruption agencies will continue to actively work on the detection and investigation of crimes. 

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) announced that 145 convictions were handed down in corruption-related cases between 2016 and 2023. About this informs NABU press office.

Convicted high-ranking officials

Among the 184 convicted persons were:

  • Senior officials of the state
  • Deputies
  • Judges
  • Heads of state enterprises
  • Top officials of state bodies

What is a guilty verdict?

A sentence is a decision of a court of first instance or appellate instance on the guilt or innocence of a person in committing a crime. A conviction may result in imprisonment, fines or other measures.

Expected data for 2024

It will soon be possible to find out how many convictions were passed in 2024 from the NABU and SAP report for the first half of 2024. The report will contain detailed information on the results of anti-corruption activities for this period.

Anti-corruption bodies continue to actively work on the detection and investigation of corruption crimes. In 2023, new initiatives were launched to increase the transparency and effectiveness of anti-corruption measures, including improving cooperation with international partners and introducing modern technologies in investigations.
