More than 25 models of machine guns were approved for use in the Defense Forces

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and approved for use in units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces more than 25 models of machine guns of both foreign and domestic production.

For data According to the Ministry of Defense, most of the codified samples are 5.56 and 7.62 mm machine guns. In addition, more than 10 samples belong to 12.7 and 14.5 mm machine guns. Large-caliber machine guns are effectively used for defeating the enemy at long distances, fighting armored combat vehicles and firing at enemy air targets.

Among the samples that replenished the arsenal of the defense forces are products of domestic production, as well as products of manufacturers from Germany, Belgium, Italy, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Turkey, the USA and other countries.

For example, the M2 Browning machine gun, also known as “Ma Deuce”, was included in the arsenal of the defense forces of Ukraine.

“This machine gun has proven itself as a reliable and durable weapon that was used in the vast majority of wars of the 20th century. The machine gun is in service with the armies of more than 100 countries of the world, and recently also with the defense forces of Ukraine.” – said the Ministry of Defense.
