170 million for defense: what will be in the nineteenth package of military aid from Denmark

Denmark informs about allocation of the next, already nineteenth, package of military support for Ukraine. 170 million dollars will be spent on components for F-16 aircraft, as well as on the development of the Ukrainian defense and industrial complex. Most of the amount will go to the purchase of weapons and ammunition from Ukrainian enterprises.

F-16 components for their maintenance are an important component of the defense package, because Denmark became the first country to transfer these aircraft to the Ukrainian army.

In addition, part of the funding will go to joint European projects related to the supply of weapons to Ukraine. The EU countries agreed on this last week during another meeting in the Rammstein format.

We will remind you that the Cabinet of Ministers recently made a decision to increase the financing of the defense and production complex of Ukraine by 6 times. The new tranche of defense support from Denmark is one of the first steps towards this goal.

Denmark became the first country that offered to invest in Ukrainian defense enterprises, purchasing from them the weapons that the Armed Forces need the most. This not only helps to better arm the army, but also stimulates the development of the Ukrainian economy.

“In the spring, Denmark announced its readiness to allocate about 28 million dollars to the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces. Now this package is being worked out – last week during the Ramstein meeting, documents were signed that regulate the mechanisms for using this aid package. Specific contracts should be signed in the near future. But, without waiting for the implementation of the first tranche of aid, the Danish government decided to significantly increase it. For us, this is a very important and promising initiative – because it will provide an opportunity not only to produce the necessary weapons, but also to increase the capabilities of defense industry enterprises for the future.”, – believes the head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy Danilo Getmantsev.
