19 people were injured in Russian strikes on Kharkiv, including a pregnant woman and a child
In Kharkiv, “shaheeds” struck residential buildings – as a result of the massive attack, 14 people were injured, including – a pregnant woman and a child.
After midnight on January 24, Russian troops attacked the city with strike drones for almost two and a half hours. During this time, at least 25 drones were launched over Kharkiv, a series of explosions were heard in the city, and hits were recorded in the Industrial and Nemyshlyansky districts. The information was released by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, Head of the Kharkiv OVA Oleg Synegubov, and State Emergency Service.
In the Industrial District, drones targeted residential buildings, causing fires in apartments and trapping people in a five-story building. A dormitory with displaced people, a hospital, and a maternity hospital were also damaged. Separately, a hit was recorded in a private house in the Nemyshlyanskyi district, where the owner of the house was injured, and neighboring houses were damaged by the blast wave.
“According to preliminary information, in the Industrial district we have a hit in a house and a fire in an apartment. We have information about another hit in a residential building. People are trapped in a five-story building as a result of the hit by a “shaheed”, – reported Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
As of 01:30, it was known about the first 11 victims who needed medical attention, including one child. Rescuers extinguished fires and cleared rubble in residential areas.
“A 74-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction as a result of the enemy attack on Kharkiv. A 25-year-old pregnant woman was also injured. Units of the State Emergency Service and emergency ambulance teams are working at the site of the enemy strikes”, – said the head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleg Synegubov.
“A dormitory with displaced persons, a hospital and a maternity hospital were damaged as a result of the hits in the Industrial District”, – reported Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov.
He also emphasized the scale of the destruction and human tragedies.
“Apartments were burning. Houses were burning. There are injured. There are those who lost their homes that night. This was a deliberate attack on a peaceful city – on people who simply live, work, raise children”, – said Igor Terekhov.
As of 07.36 Igor Terekhov reported that the number of victims had increased.
“The number of victims as a result of the night air attack on Kharkiv has increased to 19 people”, – he wrote.
All necessary services continue to work at the sites of the hits.
