Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that due to the lack of weapons, there is no point in lowering the mobilization age
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, said that some European leaders are proposing to lower the mobilization age in Ukraine. However, in his opinion, sending young people to the front without proper Western assistance is unacceptable. About this informs Sky News.
According to the head of state, the partners emphasize the need to strengthen mobilization. However, the key problem is not the age of the mobilized, but providing them with proper weapons.
“I asked what they wanted. For our soldiers to die without their weapons? For me to mobilize young men, but where would they go? With what weapons?” – said the president.
He reminded that over a year ago, Ukraine appealed to the allies to provide equipment for 10 brigades of the Armed Forces. However, during this time it was possible to fully equip only two and a half brigades by the forces of the United States and Europe. Zelensky drew attention to the importance of continued support from the West, because only through joint efforts can we ensure effective resistance to aggression and save as many human lives as possible.
