72% of Ukrainians were in favor of holding elections after the end of the war: survey results
Only 24% believe that elections should be held before the end of the war.
According to the results of the national telephone poll, conducted by the National Democratic Institute and the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, 72% of Ukrainian citizens support holding elections after the end of the war unleashed against Ukraine by Russia.

Respondents were asked to answer when, in their opinion, the authorities should hold elections:
- 72% believe that elections should be held after the end of the war.
- 24% believe that elections should be held before the end of the war.
- 4% could not answer.
Attitude towards political parties
Survey participants were also asked about their attitudes towards political parties.
- Serhiy Prytula’s party: 28% of respondents have a very positive attitude, 34% – neutral, 28% – very negative.
- Petro Poroshenko’s “European solidarity”: 23% have a very positive attitude, 28% – neutral, 47% – very negative.
- UDAR Vitaliy Klitschka: 18% are very positive, 43% are neutral, 34% are very negative.
- “Smart policy” by Dmytro Razumkov: 18% are very positive, 41% are neutral, 27% are very negative.
Other parties
- “Voice” and “Servant of the People” have similar indicators.
- “Opposition Platform – For Life”: 71% of respondents have a very negative attitude towards this party.
The survey was conducted from May 8 to 25, 2024 by the method of regular telephone interviews, covering 2,508 respondents. Temporarily occupied territories as of February 23, 2022 (the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, the occupied districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions) were excluded from the sample. Respondents living in the territories occupied after February 24, 2022 were interviewed provided they felt safe enough to answer the questions. The random error for the national sample does not exceed 2.2%.
