A $1 million bribe was offered to the colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine: the perpetrators were arrested
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained a group of people who tried to bribe one of the SBU colonels for $1 million. For this amount, the attackers wanted to raid the mining company, which owns one of the largest quarries in Vinnytsia.

The colonel of the Ukrainian special service immediately reported to his leadership about the received “offer”. Thanks to this, the law enforcement officers arrested all four raiders red-handed during an attempt to transfer the first part of the bribe in one of the capital’s restaurants.
During searches of the detainees’ residences, computer equipment, mobile phones and draft records were found, which testify to their criminal activities.
Currently, all four detainees have been charged with offering a bribe to an official in a responsible position, committed by a group of persons based on a prior conspiracy (part 3 of article 369 of the Criminal Code). The issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.
Perpetrators face up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Comprehensive measures to expose and arrest perpetrators were carried out under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
