A foreigner was exposed in Kyiv who was planning a terrorist attack on behalf of Russian special services

In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained a foreigner who, on the instructions of curators from the Russian Federation, made a homemade explosive device and was preparing to carry out a terrorist attack. He has already been informed of the suspicion.

“A 42-year-old citizen of the Republic of Armenia has been informed of the suspicion of preparing to commit a terrorist act, that is, committing an explosion that posed a danger to the life or health of a person.”

The investigation established that the man had been living in the capital for many years in his wife’s apartment, but did not have a permanent job and a stable income. One of his acquaintances offered him a part-time job and gave him the contacts of an alleged employer who was supposed to employ him in construction.

In fact, according to data of law enforcement officers, this “employer” turned out to be by a representative of the Russian special services. Instead of work, the suspect was offered to make explosives and carry out a terrorist attack. After receiving several thousand hryvnias on his bank card, the man agreed to cooperate.

The funds for the purchase of the necessary components were transferred to his wife’s card. The suspect spent part of the money on his own needs, and used the rest to gradually assemble a homemade explosive device in the apartment.

To make the explosive, he purchased four mobile phones, SIM cards, and special chemicals. Acting on the instructions received from the curator, the man assembled the explosive device, which he was to plant in a place designated by the customers. He was promised 20,000 hryvnias for completing the task.

The suspect did not have time to carry out the planned crime – law enforcement officers detained him before the explosives were planted. The court has already chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for him. Under the incriminated article, the man faces from seven to twelve years of imprisonment with possible confiscation of property.
