A meeting of the Coalition of the Willing took place in Paris, in which the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi took part together with allies who joined both offline and online. After the meeting Volodymyr Zelenskiy disclosed its details.
According to Zelenskyi, representatives of 30 countries joined the meeting.
“Now we have a special time, special negotiations. A meeting of the countries participating in the coalition of the willing took place today. All of free Europe, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand – the largest meeting of all that was held in terms of the number of countries. All are united by the same desire to end this war with a lasting peace and lasting security. The willingness of each country to contribute to ensuring security on land, at sea, in the air and in cyberspace was discussed in detail. Coordinated positions and discussed components of security guarantees. And I am grateful to everyone for understanding that the main guarantee of security is a strong Ukrainian army, – emphasized Zelensky.
The president noted that Ukraine and its allies share the same vision: Russia is trying to drag out negotiations and prolong the war.
“We need to increase support for Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia. Preparation of the 19th package of EU sanctions is currently underway. Japan” is also working on sanctions measures, – added the head of state.
He expressed his gratitude to all partners for the support of the Ukrainian people and willingness to stay close to help protect life.
“I especially want to thank President Trump for all his efforts to end this war and America’s willingness to provide support to Ukraine from its side”, – summed up the Ukrainian leader.
Zelensky also emphasized that the “Coalition of the willing” currently it exists more as a theoretical initiative, but I am convinced that it will give concrete results in the form of reliable security guarantees for Ukraine.
“But each of the initiatives – at first, no one believed in them either, did not believe that there would be NATO-style weapons in Ukraine. Today it exists and today it protects. I really believe in the “Coalition of the Willing””, – the president emphasized.
