A million for a solar power plant: who can get it and under what conditions

Up to 70% of the cost of installing solar panels, heat pumps and other measures to improve energy efficiency will be compensated by the state. This month, the government project “GreenDIM” was launched, which provides for the allocation of financial assistance for condominiums and housing and construction cooperatives.

Partial reimbursement will be provided in the following directions:

  • installation of heat pumps (ground, water, air – for heating and provision of hot water supply) – compensation in the amount of up to 2 million hryvnias;
  • installation of solar power plants – up to 1 million hryvnias;
  • certification of the energy efficiency of the building (must be carried out before applying for a grant for the installation of alternative energy sources and after the implementation of the project) – up to 15 thousand hryvnias.

“The grant provides partial compensation for the cost of the main equipment, additional necessary materials and energy efficiency certification. It is provided on a free and non-refundable basis and will cover 70% of the cost of the equipment, audit and energy efficiency certification of the building before submitting the application and after the implementation of the project”, – the head of the Committee notes of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danilo Getmancev.

In addition, the maximum amount of grants per unit of equipment capacity is established.

The head of the specialized committee believes that the “GreenDIM” program will partially compensate for the consequences of the country’s energy infrastructure due to constant shelling.

“Attacks on the infrastructure that took place during this time scaled the destruction and damage many times over. There are regions – primarily near-front and border regions (although not only), where, despite the efforts of energy and utility companies, it will be very problematic to restore infrastructure and production facilities (not I’m already talking about the high risks of continued attacks). Therefore, establishing alternative sources of energy and heat supply and reducing dependence on centralized systems is a certain way out and an opportunity,” says Mr. Hetmantsev.
