A modern hemp processing plant will appear in the Zhytomyr region

The Ukrainian company Ma’Rijany Hemp Company is preparing to revolutionize the hemp industry by launching a plant for the primary processing of hemp hemp into long fiber in November of this year. This is a unique project for Ukraine, which has an ambitious goal of becoming the largest hemp processor in Eastern and Central Europe.

Why hemp?

The founder of the company Andrii Mykytiv, known for his activities in the textile industry, explains the choice of this particular culture by several factors:

  • Demand exceeds supply: the market for hemp fiber is growing rapidly, especially in the premium segment, where the demand for ecological and natural materials is constantly increasing.
  •  Own fiber production will allow the company not to depend on imports and control the quality of raw materials.
  • Hemp is an environmentally friendly crop that does not require a lot of water and pesticides, unlike cotton.
  •  Ukraine has a rich history of hemp cultivation, and the company aims to revive this tradition.
A large-scale project with great ambitions

The plant, which is being built on the basis of a former flax factory in the Zhytomyr region, will be equipped with modern equipment and will be able to process up to 13 thousand tons of hemp per year, obtaining from it up to 5 thousand tons of long fiber.

Ma’Rijany Hemp Company plans to work with local farmers, providing them with expertise and support in growing hemp. The company also invests in its own production of raw materials and plans to provide about 40% of the plant’s needs already in the first year of operation.

The industrial park is the future of hemp growing

In addition to the plant, the Ma’Rijany Hemp Company plans to create an industrial park that will bring together producers of various hemp fiber products. This will allow to create a full cycle of production, from the cultivation of raw materials to the manufacture of final products, and will contribute to the development of the industry as a whole.

Challenges and prospects

It is noted that despite the optimistic forecasts, the company is aware of the challenges facing it. Among them is the need to restore knowledge and skills in the cultivation and processing of hemp, the formation of the sales market in Ukraine and competition from other producers. However, Ma’Rijany Hemp Company is confident in the success of its project. The company has a strong team, innovative technologies and ambitious plans that can make Ukraine one of the leaders in the field of cannabis.
