In Zaporizhzhia, a network of energy storage systems will be created to better prepare for the winter period and possible attacks on the energy infrastructure. About this informs Zaporizhzhia OVA.
Work is ongoing in the region to strengthen the security of energy facilities and strengthen energy independence. Ivan Fedorov, the head of Zaporizhzhya OVA, emphasized that the city and the region have the potential to reserve electric power. The development of the project for the construction of storage facilities for the storage of electricity on an industrial scale has already been completed.
“We have finished the development of a project for the construction of storage facilities for storing electricity in industrial facilities. We have currently prepared a project for 35 MW, which we will present to our international partners. And I am sure that we will find feedback from them.”Fedorov explained.
He also reported on other initiatives aimed at strengthening the energy autonomy of the region, in particular in the context of constant attacks by the aggressor on critical infrastructure:
“We have started to build protection at transformer substations. And we have already held a large number of negotiations with our partners regarding the installation of cogeneration plants. We have already exceeded 100 MW – this is quite a large capacity, which we have already started to install.”
It is expected that the implementation of cogeneration systems will allow heat and water supply enterprises to save significantly. According to preliminary estimates, the cost of the produced energy will be at least twice as low as that currently purchased on the market.
Another area of development of energy independence is the installation of solar power plants on the roofs of social institutions in Zaporizhzhia. The city launched a new SES at full capacity — it was installed at one of the city’s hospitals. This is already the fourth solar power plant that works in Zaporizhzhya medical institutions.
