As a result of an enemy attack on a ship of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, two servicemen were killed. Search and rescue operations are still ongoing. This was reported by the spokesman of the Navy of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk, on the air of the telethon.
“Unfortunately, one of our ships was hit, forcing us to disembark and evacuate the crew. She is currently safe. those of the team members who were injured received all necessary medical assistance. We have two dead. Search and rescue operations are ongoing. Of course, we will definitely find all our missing people, there are several of them. Also, several servicemen were injured, but the majority of the crew has mostly been safe since yesterday, Pletenchuk noted.
He refrained from confirming or refuting Russian media reports about the alleged sinking of the ship, stressing that the priority is to save lives.
“Unable to confirm this information yet. Actions related to saving lives are currently ongoing, so we cannot provide any more details, Pletenchuk explained.
He also noted that the Russian side has been developing ways to use maritime drones for several years:
“Therefore, I cannot say that it has become something new. Before this, there were no successful applications so that the Russians could talk about them.
