Damaged Aframax tankers Kusto and Cai Yun are registered in the Seychelles. They belong to the “shadow fleet” of Russia and march under the Seychelles flag. It is known that the Kusto tanker has a carrying capacity of about 700,000 barrels. As a result of the SBU attack, the loading of oil from the port in Primorsk was suspended, and it is currently unknown whether it has been resumed.

Port “Primorsk” is the largest export hub of Western Russia with a throughput capacity of about 1 million barrels of crude oil per day. Through it, the Russian Federation circumvents international sanctions and sells oil abroad. Every year, this port handles approximately 60 million tons of oil, which brings the Russian budget about 15 billion dollars.

As a result of a successful attack by Ukrainian drones, fires broke out at the pumping station in the port, and the shipment of oil was stopped. Estimated daily losses of the budget of the Russian Federation due to the cessation of exports may reach 41 million dollars.
