A unique charity match was held in Kyiv between Dynamo football players and soldiers of the “Timur Special Unit” of the Military District of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine
A unique charity football match was held in Kyiv at the Valery Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium with the participation of Dynamo Kyiv players and soldiers of the Timur Special Unit of the Military District of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The game was organized with the support of the She Protects charity fund, and ended in a symbolic draw with a score of 10:10.
Famous Dynamo football players took to the field against the military, including Andriy Yarmolenko, Volodymyr Brazhko, Denis Popov, Oleksandr Karavayev, and Mykola Shaparenko. They were opposed by special forces fighters who take part in the most complex operations of this war. Among the participants were Belarusian volunteer Yanki, commander of the Stugna unit Linux, combatant of the Brotherhood Borghese, as well as representatives of the Red Army – ideologist Cardinal and commander Denis White Rex.
The match turned out to be tense and dynamic. The special forces were the first to open the score, after which the initiative repeatedly passed from one team to the other. The spectators supported the participants until the final whistle, and in the stands were brothers, friends and families of the military.
For many fighters, this game was an opportunity to return to peaceful life for a while, because before the start of the full-scale invasion, many of them were involved in sports or were actively interested in it. The participants also emphasized that the match had not only a charitable and psychological purpose, but also a way to popularize sports and a healthy lifestyle even during the war.
After the final whistle, the teams ended the meeting with hugs, handshakes and a joint photo. The organizers and participants emphasized that the main result of the game was unity.
The “Timur Special Unit” of the Military District of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is known for performing complex combat operations, including participating in the liberation of Zmiiniy Island, regaining control over the “Boyka Towers” and raids into the enemy’s rear.
