About 10,000 Ukrainian men aged 18 to 22 left for Poland since August 28

About ten thousand Ukrainian men between the ages of 18 and 22 left for Poland after the government decree of August 26, which allowed the departure of this category of citizens. Of these, more than six thousand were recorded by Polish border guards in Przemyśl and another four thousand at the checkpoint on the border with the Volyn region. The press service of the Polish Border Service reported this to RMF FM.

Polish border guards collected data from August 28 to September 3. During this period, about ten thousand Ukrainians between the ages of 18 and 22 entered Poland.

At the same time, approximately two thousand Ukrainian men between the ages of 18 and 22 returned from Poland to Ukraine via Przemyśl during the same period. 1,301 Ukrainians in the same age category left through border checkpoints in the Volyn region.

The State Border Service of Ukraine informed People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak that it does not keep separate statistics on the departure of Ukrainian men aged 18 to 22 outside the country.

We remind you that on August 26, the Cabinet of Ministers changed the rules for crossing the state border. From now on, men between the ages of 18 and 22 can freely leave Ukraine during martial law. The innovation applies to all Ukrainians in this age range. To cross the border, you must have a passport document and a military registration document (including in electronic form). The exception is men of this age group who hold certain positions in government bodies — they can only go on business trips.
