Adidas has introduced a service that allows Ukrainian amputees to buy one pair of sneakers instead of a pair

The inclusive Single Shoe service from Adidas has launched in Ukraine, allowing customers to buy one sneaker instead of a traditional pair. This initiative is designed specifically for people with amputations or congenital features of the lower extremities, for whom purchasing a complete set of shoes was previously associated with additional costs for unnecessary goods.

From now on, you can use the new option at all official points of sale of the brand in the country, including discount centers.

According to the terms of the service, the cost of one sneaker is exactly 50% of the full retail price of the shoe. This pricing model allows consumers not to overpay for a unit of goods that they will not be able to use. The service extends to the entire existing range of the brand, which provides equal access to modern sports technologies and everyday models for all categories of citizens. Ukraine has officially become one of 23 European countries where this program has been implemented in a full-fledged format.

“This is part of a broader strategy of inclusivity and accessibility of sports for all, which allows making everyday life more comfortable for people with various physical needs,” Adidas emphasized.

During the development of the project, the brand representatives involved international organizations, in particular ParalympicsGB, in consultations to take into account the real experience and requests of users as much as possible. Previously, the company has already presented a number of adaptive solutions, including a special uniform for wheelchair basketball players and inclusive equipment for participants in the Paralympic Games. Currently, work is underway to create running shoes, the design of which is being developed together with people with Down syndrome.

“We strive to integrate inclusive design into our products so that every member of society feels supported and has access to quality equipment,” added representatives of the brand’s official representative office.

The launch of the Single Shoe service in Ukraine is an important step in the development of a barrier-free environment, which is especially relevant in the context of the growing number of people who need prosthetics and adaptive goods.

The global experience of implementing such programs in Germany, France, Poland and Sweden has demonstrated high demand for personalized solutions in the retail sector. The company plans to further expand the product line that takes into account the special needs of users.

The introduction of such socially responsible practices by large international brands sets new standards for the Ukrainian market. The service is already available to store visitors, and the chain’s staff has been appropriately instructed on the specifics of customer service within the program. It is expected that the initiative will contribute to greater involvement of people with disabilities in an active lifestyle and sports.
