Akhmetov’s company received the right to develop a clay deposit in Transcarpathia
On December 23, an online auction of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine was held to sell a 20-year special permit for geological study with experimental and industrial development and further extraction of clay from the Vovkivske deposit in the Transcarpathian region. This was reported by the specialized publication NADRA.INFO.
The area of the Vovkivske deposit is 51 hectares. Search and geological exploration work on the site was carried out in 1976–1978 by the expedition of “Ukrgeolbudm”.
The deposit’s mineral resources are yellow-brown, variegated and blue-gray clays.
The starting price of the lot at the auction was about 1.5 million hryvnias. Two participants took part in the auction.
The winner of the auction was LLC “MR Invest”, which initially priced the lot ten times higher, offering 14.75 million hryvnias.
The winner’s competitor was FOP Bombushkar Emeric Vasilyevich, who initiated the auction and offered approximately 1.9 million hryvnias for a special permit.
75.5% of LLC “MR Invest” is controlled by Rinat Akhmetov through LLC “Yumdzhi Invest” (part of the VESCO group), and the remaining 24.5% since May 2025 belong to LLC “Terragres”, the founder of the Golden Tile ceramic group, Valentyn Shevetovsky.
The LIGA.net publication also reported that LLC “MR Invest” on December 23 won the auction for obtaining a permit to use the subsoil of the Kvasivska primary kaolin site in the Beregov district of the Transcarpathian region.
