An evacuation plan is being prepared in the Kharkiv region due to the danger of flooding after a dam collapse

Possible scenarios for the evacuation of residents of territories that may be under threat of flooding after the recent attack by Russian troops on the dam of the Pecheneg Reservoir are being worked out in the Kharkiv region. About this told Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Synegubov on the live telethon.

According to Synegubov, the region has had instructions prepared in case of a possible water spill since 2022, since attacks on the dam have been recorded before. If the threat comes true, approximately 13 thousand people will be evacuated, including approximately 3.5 thousand – residents with limited mobility.

All available resources will allow us to conduct the evacuation in a timely and organized manner. If necessary, we will provide transport and places for temporary accommodation, “ Sinegubov noted. The head of the region also clarified that the option of placing transit points in Poltava, Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions is being considered in parallel.
