A new inter-factional deputy association “Search for the Kingdom of God and His Truth” has appeared in the Verkhovna Rada. It was headed by the People’s Deputy from the “Servant of the People” faction, Heorhiy Mazurashu. This was announced by the Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Kornienko, during the session of the parliament on May 14.
“In accordance with Article 63 of the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, I announce the creation of the inter-factional deputy association “Search for the Kingdom of God and His Truth” in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the ninth convocation. People’s Deputy of Ukraine Heorhiy Mazurash has been elected as the head of this inter-factional association,” he said.
After that, Kornienko advised the deputies to “apply to their colleagues”, adding that “the Kingdom of God will definitely not prevent us”.
At the same time, neither the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada nor Mazurashu himself explained the purpose of creating this inter-factional deputy association.
In February 2024, Mazurashu left the Servant of the People party, but remained a member of the parliamentary faction of the same name. At that time, he explained his decision by the impossibility of “cleansing” the political force and regaining the trust of its supporters.
In 2025, Mazurashu became the leader among MPs in terms of the amount of “legislative spam”. Over the five years of the Verkhovna Rada, he was the author or co-author of 887 initiatives. At the same time, their passability was low – only 19% of them voted.
