Oleksiy Arestovych, a well-known political and military figure who is abroad, announced his intentions to run for the post of president of Ukraine.
This is the former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine stated in one of his interviews.
In his interview, Arestovych said that he is ready to shake Putin’s hand, despite the fact that he considers him an enemy.
“Whether the people choose me or not is their business. I need to have the moral right to say: “I gave you a chance, I nominated you. Did you vote/no? Then what are the complaints against me?“, – he said.
In addition, Arestovych declared his firm intention to return to Ukraine only if the current president Volodymyr Zelensky leaves his post, emphasizing his criticism of the war in Donbas.
Assuring that it is important for him to have the moral right to apply for a high position, Arestovych emphasized that the decision belongs to the Ukrainian people, and his goal is to become a candidate and offer an alternative to the already existing political situation in the country.
