Austria allocates 5 million euros to restore the energy infrastructure of Ukraine

The Ministry of Climate Protection of Austria announced the allocation of 5 million euros for the restoration of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, which suffered significant destruction as a result of Russian aggression.

Austrian Climate Protection Minister Leonor Gewessler emphasized the importance of this aid, saying: “As a neutral country, Austria is obliged to stand on the side of humanity in this war.”

Ambassador of Ukraine to Austria Vasyl Khymynets expressed gratitude for the “strong signal of solidarity”.

“Against the background of Russian efforts to destroy the energy infrastructure of Ukraine with the help of airstrikes and artillery fire, this financial assistance from the federal government is extremely important for the restoration of energy infrastructure facilities and the provision of electricity to the population of Ukraine.”, – said Khymynets.

Funds will be distributed through the Energy Community and used to purchase necessary spare parts, generators and repair power lines.
