Israel announced the elimination of the second commander of the Central Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on the elimination of the second commander of the Central Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran, Ali Shadmani, who assumed this position after the assassination of his predecessor, Gholamali Rashid, at the beginning of the “Eastern Lion” operation. Shadmani was destroyed by an Israeli airstrike on the evening of June 16.

“After receiving accurate intelligence, the Air Force struck a manned command center in the heart of Tehran and eliminated Ali Shadmani, the top military commander and the closest figure to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.”, the IDF said.

Ali Shadmani headed the Central Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya, also known as Iran’s Military Emergency Command. Khamenei appointed him on June 13 and gave him the rank of major general. His predecessor, Lt. Gen. Golamali Rashid, was killed earlier that day in the first Israeli strikes on Iran.

It will be recalled that on June 13, the Israel Defense Forces announced the task of a “preemptive strike” on the objects of Iran’s nuclear program in order to prevent Tehran from obtaining weapons of mass destruction. As a result of the attack, several high-ranking Iranian military personnel were eliminated, including the commander-in-chief of the IRGC Salami. Netanyahu called on the citizens of Iran to overthrow the Islamic regime, which “has been oppressing its own people for decades.”
