Blablacar has lowered the maximum service fee limit
The management company of the online platform Blablacar has implemented the recommendations of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine and introduced additional self-regulatory measures, in particular, it has reduced the maximum limit of the service fee. This was reported by the press service of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
The regulator recalled that in December 2024 it provided recommendations to LLC “I-TRAVELS”, which manages the Blablacar carpooling platform. It was about the need to stop the practice of setting a service fee without proper economic justification, as well as the unclear conditions for its return to passengers.
During 2025, the company interacted with the Antimonopoly Committee, involving the parent structure of Comuto SA in the process. During the inspection, the companies provided the necessary explanations, documents and confirmed that the approach to forming the service fee is economically justified.
“I-TRAVELS also made changes to the terms of use regarding the refund of the service fee to passengers and updated the sections of the website in order to provide information about clear algorithms for such refunds”, — the message states.
At the meeting on October 23, 2025, the AMCU recognized that the recommendations were fully implemented. The company representative reported that after considering the recommendations, Blablacar decided to implement additional self-regulatory measures.
Starting from October 10, 2025, the maximum service fee limit on the platform has been reduced by 13%, which, according to estimates, will allow users to save about 5 million hryvnias per year when paying for the service.
