Britain ready to send Typhoon fighter jets to Ukraine after ceasefire

Great Britain is ready to send several dozen Typhoon fighters to protect the airspace of Ukraine after the signing of the peace agreement. About this informs The Times.

This move is seen as an alternative to the deployment of British ground forces in Ukraine. The supply of fighters is considered a more realistic option for London than sending a ground contingent.

Discussions are currently at an early stage, but the Royal Air Force has said the option is likely. It is expected that the planes may be based in Poland.

According to the preliminary plan, the fighter jets will be “armed to the teeth” and will be in the mode of constant combat readiness in order to quickly respond to possible Russian attacks. It is also proposed that Great Britain lead a mission to patrol Ukrainian airspace by analogy with NATO missions in the Baltic states.
