China declares critical moment for resolving Russia’s war against Ukraine
China advocates the continuation of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, stressing that the process of settling the war has reached a critical stage. About this stated Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
On August 6, Wang I had a telephone conversation with the Special Assistant to the President of Brazil for International Affairs Celsu Amorim. During the dialogue, the parties discussed issues related to the so-called “Ukrainian crisis” – this is the term used by Beijing to denote Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. According to Wang I, the “consensus” reached by China and Brazil “played a positive role in de-escalating the crisis.”
“Russia and Ukraine have already started negotiations, taking an important step forward. The current crisis settlement process has reached a critical moment”, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
During the conversation, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to support efforts aimed at ending hostilities and continuing peace talks.
Although China officially declares neutrality in the matter of war, Beijing does not stop active cooperation with Moscow. Chinese companies supply Russia with dual-purpose products that can be used, in particular, for the production of weapons.
We will remind, on June 20, The Economist edition reported, that China has effectively become a key supplier to the Russian military machine, and suggested that Beijing may have been supplying Moscow with lethal weapons.
