Denys Shmyhal announced an increase in pensions and salaries for teachers

In 2025, indexation of pensions and salary increases for teachers is planned in Ukraine, as well as the expansion of social support programs. About this reported Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

Indexation of pensions and recalculation of payments will take place in two stages – in January and September. The increase in pensions will be part of the “Winter Support” program, which provides for additional payments for socially vulnerable sections of the population.

As for teachers’ salaries, monthly supplements will be introduced in 2025. In particular, from January 1, 2025, an additional monthly payment of 1,000 hryvnias will be established for all teachers of general secondary education. According to Shmyhal, this is the first step in the direction of raising the social status of teachers and stimulating their work.

In addition, the government plans to expand the “Affordable Medicines” program, which will allow more Ukrainians to receive the necessary medicines at affordable prices. To support the population in the conditions of high tariffs for communal services, about 40 billion hryvnias have been allocated in the budget for subsidies. As the Prime Minister noted, these funds should provide support to all families that need help paying for communal services.

The planned measures are part of the government’s comprehensive strategy aimed at improving the social protection of Ukrainians in the face of economic challenges and the recovery of the country.
