Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on the State Budget-2026
On December 10, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law on the State Budget of Ukraine for 2026. Information about the signature appeared in the document card on the Verkhovna Rada website.
Budget revenues will amount to 2.918 trillion hryvnias, while expenditures are planned at 4.781 trillion hryvnias. Part of the financing is expected to come from international support.
The marginal deficit is set at 1.9 trillion hryvnias, which is approximately six billion more than in the initial version. This is 18.5% of the gross domestic product.
The largest amount of funds in the budget is directed to the defense and security sector – a total of 2.8 trillion hryvnias, or almost 60% of all state spending. Of this amount, 1.3 trillion hryvnias are earmarked for financial support for military personnel, and 709 billion hryvnias for weapons and equipment. Other expenses are planned to be covered by international aid.
As previously reported, on December 3, the Verkhovna Rada supported the draft state budget for 2026 in the second reading. The document was supported by 261 people’s deputies.
