Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions almost completely without electricity due to Russian attack
As a result of another attack by the Russian army, the power supply in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions was almost completely cut off. The press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported on the large-scale power outage in the regions .
According to the agency, the Russian occupiers again struck energy infrastructure facilities, which led to critical power outages in the two regions. Energy workers will be able to begin assessing the damage and restoring work only after the security situation stabilizes. At the time of publication, the Zaporizhia region remained completely without electricity, and most of the Dnipropetrovsk region – power outage.
Due to the Russian Federation’s attack on energy facilities, changes also affected the work of the railway. “Ukrzaliznytsia” reported that all trains in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions were switched to backup thermal traction, and the stations were provided with power from generators.
“Signaling and communication equipment is powered by backup power; the stations are also powered by generators. In the invincibility points, not only hot tea is traditionally available, but also charging and uninterrupted communication via Starlink”, – the message says.
With delays, trains on the routes Kyiv – Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia – Kyiv, Dnipro – Kholm and Dnipro – Lviv departed under reserve locomotives.
In the Dnipro itself, due to the consequences of the Russian attack, the work of public transport was temporarily changed. As informs the mayor of Dnipro Borys Filatov in Telegram, in the morning, electric transport in Dnipro will be replaced by buses as much as possible. According to him, for this purpose, the city will increase the number of rolling stock on the routes, and he called on residents to take into account the changes in advance when planning trips.
