In Ukraine, they plan to introduce a “zero exchange rate” for those who have not passed the NMT

The Ministry of Education and Science plans to introduce a new tool for Ukrainian applicants who have not passed the national multi-subject test (NMT), the so-called “zero course”. This was stated Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi during question time to the government in the Verkhovna Rada.

“The instrument that we propose, which we are discussing and have already developed a corresponding project of the resolution, is – the so-called “zero course”, explained Lisovyi.

According to him, admission to the “zero course” will not require completion of NMT. This decision will make it possible to take children who did not pass the NMT for various reasons: due to educational losses, due to the fact that they studied abroad, for some other reasons, to the “zero course” and teach them a year.

“And take them not only during the introductory campaign. But also to organize another introductory campaign. For example, “winter entrance”, “spring entrance”, explained the minister.

He emphasized that the “zero course” it is necessary to “take everyone”.

“But then, after studying at the “zero course”, take the children to NMT. In order not to violate the fair distribution of state resources, stressed Lisovyi.

According to the minister, “ such a tool can be effective”.

“Today, the rector’s community supports this idea. I think we will take a lot of children. Including – children from abroad, concluded the head of the Ministry of Education and Culture
