In August 2023, People’s Deputy from the “Voice” party, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, moved to an apartment worth 12 million hryvnias, which is registered to his father-in-law from his second marriage.

The area of the new apartment is 134 square meters. According to the information of military officer and journalist Serhiy Ronin, it is about an elite house in Pechersk, located at 36-B Evgena Konovalts Street.
Zheleznyak’s official salary as a people’s deputy for a year is about 660 thousand hryvnias. Thus, the cost of an elite apartment in Pechersk is equal to approximately 17 annual salaries of a deputy.
This caused an uproar in society, especially among the military and volunteers. Military Kyrylo Danylchenko commented this situation: “While some are losing their health, years of service, a single life, others in Pokrovsk are unscrewing boilers and loading furniture into cars, others are launching successful family ‘businesses’. Everything is fine. We are together. We plowed – me and the tractor.”
