During the war years, the state received almost UAH 21 billion from privatization.

Despite the challenges of wartime, the privatization of state property in Ukraine continues to work for the economy. During 2022–2025, the total amount of privatization proceeds reached almost UAH 21 billion. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy.

The transfer of state-owned companies to private investors contributes to the restoration of the work of enterprises, the preservation of existing jobs, and the emergence of new opportunities for the development of regions. In addition, privatization provides additional revenues to the state budget.

Among the largest privatization deals in 2025 are the sale of JSC “UMCC”, which operates in the mining industry, for UAH 3.9 billion, as well as “Ukrbud” for UAH 805 million. In 2024, the largest deals were the sale of the Ukraine Hotel for UAH 2.5 billion, AEROC for UAH 1.89 billion, and Kozatskyi Hotel for UAH 400 million.

Privatization is not only a change in the owner of assets, but also a mechanism for the revival of neglected enterprises by attracting new capital and technologies. It also helps to maintain production, repay wage arrears, and increase tax revenues.

At the same time, strategic enterprises in critical sectors remain under state control. Assets that have not been operating for a long time or have been unprofitable are mainly put up for privatization, as well as sanctioned assets of Russian owners transferred to the state’s income.

The funds received from the sale of such assets are directed, in particular, to the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression. For regions, this means creating new jobs, increasing revenues to local budgets, and restoring economic activity.
