Electromagnetic weapons for destroying drones have been tested in Britain

The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain has successfully tested the latest electromagnetic weapons designed to destroy drones. About this informs Financial Times.
We are talking about the RapidDestroyer system, which was developed by a consortium led by the French company Thales. It works on the principle of powerful radio frequency radiation, capable of disabling the electronics of drones at a considerable distance.
During the tests, the British military was able to neutralize two drone swarms of eight units each. In total, more than a hundred drones were destroyed within the program. The system is mounted on a truck and requires significant energy resources to operate.
Experts note that the RapidDestroyer creates a wide energy beam that allows you to hit several targets at once. This technology is relatively inexpensive to use and effective in the face of massive UAV attacks. At the same time, due to the lack of precise guidance, it is less suitable for the protection of specific objects, such as airports.
Such systems can be used not only against drones, but also to combat the missile threat. The US Navy plans to test a Project Meteor microwave weapon capable of hitting anti-ship ballistic missiles in 2026.
