Energy companies of Ukraine earned almost UAH 750 billion in 2023: details

The combined income of the top 10 companies in the energy sector of Ukraine for 2023 amounted to almost UAH 750 billion, which is 8% more than in 2022.
These data made public “Opendatabot Index”.
“D.Trading” from Rinat Akhmetov’s SCM group remains the leader for the second year in a row. Its income for the past year increased by 15% to UAH 165.65 billion. In total, 4 of Akhmetov’s companies entered the rating, their combined income amounted to UAH 262.48 billion, or 35% of the total income of the top 10.

Among Akhmetov’s companies, “Kyiv Energy Services” (+150%) and “Dniprovski Energy Services” (+33%) received the greatest increase in income. Dnipro energy services also showed the largest increase in profit among all companies in the rating (+250%).
The state-owned companies included in the rating include “Ukrhydroenergo”, NAEK “Energoatom”, “Ukrenergo”, “Naftogaz of Ukraine” and “Naftogaz Trading”.
Of the state-owned companies, only two increased their income in 2023: “Ukrhydroenergo” (+30%) and NAEK “Energoatom” (+15%). “Ukrhydroenergo” received the largest net profit among the 10 companies in the rating – UAH 17.3 billion (almost twice as much as in 2022).
The income of “Ukrenergo” almost did not change – more than UAH 82 billion.
State-owned Naftogaz of Ukraine and Naftogaz Trading reduced revenues in 2023 by 4% and 9%, respectively. Both companies suffered losses of UAH 10.29 billion in total.
The last place in the rating is occupied by Neli Kostenko, LLC “KYIV REGIONAL EK”. Its revenue grew by 29%, but profit fell by 25% compared to 2022.
