Erdogan called ending the war in Ukraine a priority for Turkey

Turkish President Recep Erdogan said that the war in Ukraine, which has been going on for the fourth year, should end with a fair and sustainable peace agreement. This is a priority for Turkey, reported Erdogan at the opening ceremony of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum on April 11.
“Ending the fourth-year Russian-Ukrainian war with a just and sustainable peace agreement remains our priority. We have taken many steps, including the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the prisoner exchange and the Istanbul Process. I hope we will continue to maintain the balanced and proactive approach we have taken since day one.”, – said the President of Turkey.
According to him, Turkey is ready to make efforts to create a belt of peace and security around its territory. It also strives to establish good relations with neighbors, expand cooperation and trade.
“We understand very well that peace requires more effort than war. But we have always chosen difficult over easy. Today we are on the side of difficult. With this understanding, as we fight for peace and stability in countries with which we have close friendships, such as Ukraine, Sudan, Libya and Somalia, we also take responsibility through initiatives such as mediation and facilitation in Africa and Asia.” – emphasized the Turkish leader.
Erdogan noted that Turkey supports the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. He also believes that his country could accept possible negotiations between Ukraine, the USA and Russia.
