Former Defense Minister Kuzmuk dismissed from the position of advisor to the Territorial Defense Forces

Former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Kuzmuk no longer holds the position of freelance advisor to the commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As reported by the press service of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, the decision to dismiss him was made by the commander of the Territorial Defense Forces.

“According to the decision of the commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kuzmuk has been dismissed from the position of freelance advisor”, – the message says.

Army General Kuzmuk received this position on October 14, 2022. According to media reports, his presence at the awarding ceremony for the Defense Ministry on December 6 caused a wave of indignation on social networks.

As is known, Kuzmuk headed the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine from July 1996 to October 2001 and from September 2004 to February 2005. In 2007, he briefly served as Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine. In addition, Kuzmuk was a people’s deputy of the 4th, 6th and 7th convocations and was a member of the Party of Regions.
