Former director of Central GOK Shevchik found dead near Kryvyi Rih

Today, October 8, the body of Dmytro Shevchyk, the former general director of the Central Mining and Processing Combine (CMGZK), was found at a recreation center in the Kryvorizka district of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The police are already working at the scene, according to sources in the law enforcement agencies.

To investigate the incident, investigators from the Kryvorizka District Police Department, a forensic laboratory, a mobile laboratory of the NDEKC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and a forensic medical expert are present at the scene. Currently, a thorough inspection of the scene, collection of material evidence, and interviewing of possible witnesses is underway.

Information under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with preliminary qualification of the event as suicide has already been entered into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations.

What is known about Dmytro Shevchyk

He was born in 1977.

Graduated from Kyiv National University of Economics in 1999.

In 2003, he completed his studies at Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, majoring in international law.

In 2015, he graduated from the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, majoring in “public administration”.

He held the position of General Director of PJSC “Central Mining and Processing Plant”.

In 2015, he was elected a deputy of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council from the “Opposition Bloc” party and worked in the commission on entrepreneurship, industry and service.
