From today, everyone at the border with Poland must have their passport scanned, photographed, and fingerprinted: State Customs Service
Starting from November 3, 2025, all travelers crossing the border through the specified checkpoints from the Polish side are required to undergo initial registration at a self-service terminal or with a border guard officer. This is reported by the State Customs Service.
Due to the launch of the digital Entry/Exit System (EES), the passage of citizens through the “Yagodyn – Dorohusk” checkpoints may be temporarily slowed down. and “Ustylug – Zosyn”.
The procedure includes scanning the passport and collecting biometric data – taking a photo and taking fingerprints. For children under 12 years of age, fingerprints are not taken. During subsequent entries, biometric data will be automatically verified with the information already available in the Schengen system.
“The introduction of the system may initially lead to an increase in the time required for control procedures. Therefore, we recommend planning trips with more time or choosing alternative border crossing points”, — the message says.
The EES digital system will allow for automatic recording of information about persons entering or leaving the Schengen area, including biometric data – fingerprints and facial images. EU authorities will have permanent access to the personal data of third-country nationals, their travel history and will be able to monitor compliance with the established period of stay.
