Germany massively refuses Ukrainians to work as junior medical personnel: BILD

In Germany, about 130,000 jobs in the field of junior medical staff and nurses remain vacant today. However, despite their willingness to work, Ukrainians are often denied employment. As noted in interview BILD owner of the care service Seniocare24 Renata Feri, every week she is forced to turn away an average of three Ukrainians due to strict bureaucratic requirements in Germany.
“These people are already here and want to work, and it’s only getting harder for them. Excessive demands encourage shadow employment.” According to her, there are currently about 500,000 people in Germany who care for those in need illegally. As a result, 90% of Seniocare24 clients refuse formal employment. nannies and hire them illegally to bypass the company”, – said Feri
According to information previously provided by Tagesspiegel, after the outbreak of full-scale war in February 2022, 1,822 Ukrainians with a medical education applied to have their qualifications recognized in Germany. However, only 9% of them received permission to work in the country, although there is an acute shortage of personnel in this field.
“The lack of junior medical personnel is a scandal for our time. The health care system is drowning in bureaucracy”, Bundestag deputy Tino Sorge (CDU) told BILD.
BILD columnist Elena Gleckner also drew attention to the example of Bavaria, which operates an accelerated qualification recognition system. If the process takes up to two years in most German states, it takes only five weeks in Bavaria.
