Elon Musk announced the launch of Grokipedia, which is intended to be a competitor to Wikipedia
American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk announced the launch of Grokipedia, a new online platform that is intended to compete with Wikipedia. Grokipedia was created by Musk’s company xAI and is based on artificial intelligence. The site already has 885,279 articles available.
“Grokipedia.com version 0.1 is already available. Version 1.0 will be 10 times better, but even in version 0.1 it is, in my opinion, better than Wikipedia”, — Musk noted.
He also published several comparisons of users who studied the difference between articles on Wikipedia and Grokipedia.
Musk stated that his resource provides more accurate information:
“Grokipedia.com is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth”.
Currently, Grokipedia does not support search in Ukrainian. For queries in English, it produces articles structured like Wikipedia. If a term has multiple meanings, you can switch between them on the left side of the page. Users also have access to a list of sources, and some articles have a note saying “This text is adapted from Wikipedia”.
Musk first announced the project on October 6. At the time, he explained that Grokipedia was created based on his artificial intelligence Grok and was intended to be a “large-scale improvement to Wikipedia”. The platform will analyze open sources, identify errors, partial truths or lack of context, and also automatically correct inaccuracies in articles.
