Germany sends fighter jets to Poland ahead of Russian-Belarus military exercises

Germany has sent five Eurofighter fighters to Poland a month before the start of the joint Russia-Belarus Zapad-2025 exercises, which will start in September. About this informs Picture.

According to information, the deployment of fighters took place on Tuesday, August 5.

“For the first time, German Air Force Eurofighters will fly from the Minsk Mazowiecki Airfield. This deployment is a clear sign of the alliance’s solidarity within NATO and serves as a reliable means of deterrence and protection of the common airspace.” – said the spokeswoman of the Air Force.

The five fighters will support the German military already in the region and provide protection of the airspace over Rzeszów in southeastern Poland with the help of two fire units of the Patriot air defense system.

“The association provides the so-called “alert squadron” – a rapid response force that can respond to possible airspace violations in the shortest possible time,” – noted in the Federal Ministry of Defense.

We will remind, on July 21, 150 German military personnel, as well as units from the command area and fighters of the object protection regiment, were redeployed to Poland to participate in the mission.
