Great Britain and the United States have concluded a large-scale technology agreement worth $42 billion

The UK and the US have signed a major technology agreement covering the development of artificial intelligence, quantum computing and civilian nuclear power. As part of the agreement, American companies led by Microsoft pledged to invest 31 billion pounds ($42 billion) in the British economy. This became known during the second state visit of US President Donald Trump to London, reports Reuters.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the agreement a chance to change the lives of millions of people and emphasized that the partnership with the United States can become a driving force for economic growth and strengthening energy security.

The largest investment will be provided by Microsoft, which will allocate 22 billion pounds for the development of cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence and the construction of a supercomputer. Nvidia plans to deploy 120,000 GPUs in the UK, including the latest Grace Blackwell Ultra, to create the country’s largest computing center in collaboration with Nscale, OpenAI and Microsoft.

Google has announced plans to invest £5 billion in a new data center and continue to support research through its DeepMind division. Cloud company CoreWeave is investing £1.5 billion in building energy-efficient data centers with Scotland’s DataVita. The company’s total investment in Britain will amount to 2.5 billion pounds.

Also joining the deal are Salesforce, Scale AI, BlackRock, Oracle, Amazon Web Services and AI Pathfinder, who intend to invest hundreds of millions to several billion pounds.

This package of American investment became the largest in the field of technology in the entire modern history of Great Britain. Only thanks to Google projects, about 8,250 new jobs will appear in the country every year.
