Great Britain has transferred new air defense systems to Ukraine
The UK is providing Ukraine with additional military support by delivering advanced Raven and Gravehawk air defence systems. As reported by the UK Defence Journal, the delivery is taking place during active hostilities and is aimed at protecting the Ukrainian military and critical infrastructure from air attacks.
According to the British Parliament, Ukraine has already received 13 Raven systems and two Gravehawk prototypes. Raven is designed to intercept drones, aircraft and helicopters near the front using adapted AIM-132 ASRAAM missiles, while Gravehawk will provide protection for strategically important objects from long-range strikes by Russian forces.
Both systems are expected to significantly increase Ukraine’s defense capabilities against regular attacks on energy infrastructure. These measures are part of a large-scale winter air defense package worth 600 million pounds. In addition to missile systems, the package includes automated turrets to destroy Russian drones.
