The State Statistics Service named the cheapest and most expensive regions of Ukraine for renting apartments

Housing rent in Ukraine has been showing rapid growth since the beginning of 2025. State Statistics Service named the cheapest and most expensive regions for renting apartments.

The average cost of renting a one-room apartment in March reached 7,413 hryvnias per month, which is 2.7% more than at the beginning of the year. Zakarpattia Oblast became the most expensive region for renters, where the monthly fee is 11,769 hryvnias. In second place is the Lviv region, where after a 2.9% increase, the rent reached 10,749 hryvnias.

The third place is occupied by the Rivne region – here the cost increased by 3.8%, to 10,263 hryvnias. Kyiv remains in fourth place with an average price of UAH 9,777, which is 1.5% more than before. In general, the highest rental rates are recorded in the western and part of the central regions of the country.

At the same time, the lowest prices for housing rent are observed in the Kherson region — 3,118 hryvnias per month. It is followed by Zaporizhzhia region with an average cost of 3,623 hryvnias and Mykolaiv region with 3,908 hryvnias. Despite the difficult security situation, rental rates in some of these regions are even showing growth.

As the president of the Association of Real Estate Specialists of Ukraine, Olena Haydamaha, noted, this trend is explained by the fact that the market for buying and selling housing is almost non-functional in these regions. According to her, until the end of the war, these regions will remain among the most affordable in terms of rental prices due to the constant threat of shelling and a significant outflow of the population.
